Ontario Tournament Features Nine Flyers

LEAMINGTON, ONTARIO – Nine Leamington Flyers will be battling for Ontario over the next two days.

The OJHL’s 2024 Battle of Ontario takes place November 19th and 20th in Smiths Falls and features two All Star teams and two prospects teams that will face off against teams from the CCHL.

Goaltender, Marcus Vandenberg, forward, Gavin Grundner and forward, Colton Smith will represent Team Rodrigues, while goaltender, Tre Altiman and defenseman, Anthony Ciaramitaro will play for Team Tanev.

Leamington head coach, Dale Mitchell will also be behind the bench for Team Tanev.

Defenseman, Landon Bernard was named to the team but is injured and will be unable to play. Forward, Michael Denney was selected as an alternate.

In the prospects portion of the tournament, forward Brody Cook was chosen to play for Team McBain, while forward Ashton Darocy will suit up for Team Hyman.

“We are happy for the players to be recognized for the all star tournament in Smiths Falls,” Mitchell comments. “It’s a great accomplishment for these young men to represent themselves and our team. We can’t wait to watch them perform as they have done for us so far this season.”

Leamington hits the ice next on Thursday, November 21st at 7:10pm at the Nature Fresh Farms Recreation Centre against the Niagara Falls Canucks.
