MacPhersons Sign National Letters of Intent

LEAMINGTON, ONTARIO – Connor MacPherson and Ryan MacPherson have officially signed on the dotted line and committed to playing NCAA D1 hockey at the University of New Hampshire.

The Flyers forwards signed their National Letters of Intent this evening at the Nature Fresh Farms Recreation Centre.

“To sign and make it official is really a dream come true,” Connor says. “I’d like to thank the Flyers organization for giving me a place to play and develop the last two seasons and everyone else who has helped me along the way.”

“It’s such a great accomplishment to make it official, finally.” Ryan agrees. “I want to thank my family, friends and the Leamington Flyers for guiding me along this journey.”

At this stage of the season, Ryan has 12 goals and 12 assists for 24 points in 20 games, while Connor has 8 goals and 17 assists for 25 points in 15 contests.

“We are extremely happy for Ryan, Connor and the family,” says Leamington general manager, Justin Solcz. “They are great people and great hockey players that have worked very hard on and off the ice to earn this opportunity.”

Flyers head coach, Dale Mitchell says. “They have worked so hard to improve their games, so I am not surprised by this achievement. They are excellent hockey players who want to learn and get better every day. I know they will be fantastic players for UNH.”

The University of New Hampshire Wildcats are perennial contenders in the Hockey East Conference and have appeared in the NCAA Frozen Four seven times in their history.

Ryan and Connor have become the third and fourth Flyers players to commit to a NCAA D1 University in the last three years. They join Zack Borgiel (Merrimack) and Adam Jeffery (RIT).
