LEAMINGTON, ONTARIO – It is almost time for the Leamington Flyers to open the
2021-22 season.
The Flyers open main camp on September 7th and 8th and will begin the exhibition season on Thursday, September 9th when they host the Chatham Maroons. Leamington will play four preseason games, with another on Thursday, September 16th against the LaSalle Vipers before back-to-back road games against Chatham on Sunday, September 19th and in LaSalle on Wednesday, September 22nd.
Please be aware, the Municipality of Leamington has implemented a mandatory COVID-19 vaccination/rapid test policy beginning on September 8th.
As of then, individuals, aged 12 and older, will be required to confirm full COVID-19 vaccination or a negative test result within 12 hours in order to gain access to the Nature Fresh Farms Recreation Centre.
Visitors will be required to wear a mask inside the facility, except while eating, drinking or while engaging in an athletic or fitness activity as per public health directives.
“We are looking forward to getting back into our home rink this week, being on the ice and welcoming our fans once again to the Nature Fresh Farms Recreation Centre,” states Flyers General Manager, Justin Solcz. “Above all, these policies will give our staff, players and the public a safe place to attend a game.”
At the end of August, the GOJHL unveiled their vaccination protocol, which calls for all Player Access Personnel to be fully vaccinated by September 24th, 2021.
