Davenport, Gatto Chosen For Canada Cup All-Star Challenge

LEAMINGTON, ONTARIO – Two Leamington Flyers have been named to the 2023 Eastern Canada Cup All-Star Challenge.

 

Goaltender, Sebastian Gatto and defenseman, Jason Davenport will represent the Flyers in the tournament which opened today in Trenton

 

In total, 40 players were selected from the OJHL and divided into two teams – OJHL Oates, where the Flyers will be posted and OJHL Hawerchuk.

 

The tournament is one of the biggest Junior A events in the country, with the OJHL, Central Canada Hockey League (CCHL), Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League (NOJHL), Quebec Junior Hockey League (QJHL) and the Maritime Junior Hockey League (MHL) participating.

It also helps identify players that may be selected for Team Canada East in the World Junior A Challenge, Dec. 10-17 in Truro, N.S.

The rest of the Leamington Flyers are in action on Wednesday, November 15th when they travel to Buffalo to face the Jr. Sabres.

 

Leamington’s next home game is Thursday, November 16th at the Nature Fresh Farms Recreation Centre, as they host Milton at 7:10pm.
