Affiliates help lift the Flyers to opening night win

LEAMINGTON, ONTARIO – With five affiliated players in the lineup, the Leamington Flyers opened their 2021-22 season with a 4-2 victory over the St. Mary’s Lincolns.

Jaxen Fortier-Smith, Anthony Ciaramitaro, Lukas Boudreau, Kyle Greene and Adriano Tonin all suited up for the Flyers last night and played significant time. Leamington fell behind 1-0 after the first period but three second period markers, the first from Darby Lemieux followed by two from Jason Daraiche, put them ahead for
good.

The teams traded goals in the third, with Andrew Uturo sealing the victory with 33 seconds left in the contest.

Ryan Polidori pushed aside 39 shots, backstopping the Flyers to their first win of the season.

Leamington now prepares for their home opener on Thursday, September 30 th , 2021 at the Nature Fresh Farms Recreation Centre against the LaSalle Vipers.
