30 Goal Scorer Denney Chooses Leamington For Move To Junior A

LEAMINGTON, ONTARIO – Michael Denney will be making the jump from the GOJHL’s Stratford Warriors to the OJHL’s Leamington Flyers for the upcoming season.

Denney, a 17 year old from Keswick, Ontario, had a standout campaign in his first year of Jr B hockey, scoring 33 goals and adding 18 assists for 51 points in 47 games. He led Stratford in goals and was third in points, helping the Warriors to a second place finish in the Midwest Conference.

The right handed forward was just as effective in the playoffs, tallying 9 goals and 13 points in 14 games before falling to the eventual Sutherland Cup Champion, Listowel Cyclones in the Midwest Conference Final.

“We are excited to have Michael join our team,” Flyers head coach, Dale Mitchell says. “His goal scoring ability and offensive game will provide a tremendous boost for us. He comes from a great program in Stratford, so we know he will play the right way in all
three zones.”
